Come up to CCNY, at W 140th and Amsterdam, on either the 1 (to 137th, then walk east a little to Amsterdam) or a, b, c, or d trains (to 145th, then walk west on 145th, you can walk down Convent and past so many beautiful old homes, or just walk down Amsterdam to 140th).

moving studios

Hi there!

Um, so I’m moving my studio from CCNY’s Shepard Hall to Compton-Goethals Hall. Across Convent Avenue, into the heart of the old schools small art department. Very different feelings in the different spaces. Before I finish moving over I wanted to post a few pictures of Shepard.

I really will miss it, but I am excited to move as well. I’m moving into a huge divided up room, so it will have more of a community feeling. My studio will be about the same size. Shepard Hall was a little lonely, and I have enough of that already, so it was time for a change. I’ll still be a lone wolf, just in a new way. Though, if you know me you’ll remember my years in faux co-op studios. I do well with community, it’s what I like.

From these pictures you’ll see, the building is just gorgeous. My studio was a little haunted, but not in a bad way. I will miss the skylight and the green tiles. It was like working in a turret. I’ll post pictures of my new space soon. It is awesome in a different way. Very exciting.

Shepard Hall!

OPEN STUDIO! Thurs. Nov. 10th (6-9)

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 10th!!!!!!!! Open Studios from 6 to 9 pm! Come see what I’ve been working on!

Come over to the City College of New York! The oldest part of CUNY, on 140th and Convent (half of the studios are on Amsterdam, the other half are on Convent which is right next to Amsterdam).
I’m upstairs in Shepard Hall. Come over! Come over! Room 405. Yes, you can take the elevator, or the stairs. Follow the balloons and the signs!

Come see my art studio, come see what I’ve been making instead of hanging out and doing other NYC things. Among other little snacky things I’ll have my famous cucumber lime water for you to drink.

And all new exciting art for you to see! If you want you can buy some and help me pay for my education. Or just come see my work and talk to me. I’ll be happy to answer questions and talk to you about my work. And you will be able to meet other people in my program.

I hope to see you there!

xok

PS You can take the 1 train to 137th (and Broadway) and walk over to 140th and west to Amsterdam and Convent. Or you can take the A, B, C or D to 145th and head east on 145th then turn (left) down Convent and pass those gorgeous homes and churches and walk until you get there, that stop is about as far as the 1. Here is a map. And a subway map. Hope to see you there!
